Fight club!!
The first rule of this Fight club is Tell Everyone!
Held at Hutton Moor sports centre in Western Super Mare it was again the setting for a great night of martial arts put together by the very professional Stuart Davies. Stuart knows how to put on a good show and raises the level each time. He has brought together a great concept with the Fight Club format. It really has something for everyone.
From the beginning it has been important to Fight Club to include a real mixture of competition. The nights include male and female bouts and are from novice fights to World title Battles; from kickboxing to pro-rules MMA. The events also enjoy some great mixtures of styles with Thai Boxing and Boxing bouts.

The most exciting fight of the night was Super Bantamweight Barry Lock defending his WUMA Pro title. Lock fought in January on the last Fight club show, in what has been described as the best kickboxing fight ever seen in the UK!
This was another great performance. Credit should also go to his opponent Keith Morris who put up a great fight. Both fighters where fighting head to head all though the fight. Barry was just a step above and controlled the tempo of the fight. Barry Lock will be a name to keep an eye on. He has a great ring presence and fights with the confidence of a real warrior.

BJJ World Champion Leo Negao was all ready to fight on the show. But he was under the idea that you could weigh within a few pounds as in Brazil. His opponent didn’t want to fight as in the end Leo was still 2lbs over. As a professional fighter Leo should have known better, but he is from Brazil where that would not be a problem. Leo was very disappointed as in Brazil you come to fight and a couple pounds would not stop a fight going ahead. But the opponent used Leo’s mistake to pull out of the fight. Leo is hoping very much a rematch can be arranged asap!

Stuart has been working hard not only to put on great events, but to also have them on Sky Sports/TWC fight channel. This is helping to bring more martial arts fight action to the public. At Fight club you are always given a quality action! Each event has so far included incredible personal battles and British, European and World titles, which show good match making.

It is important to create the right atmosphere and they do that well with a line up for each night of displays and entertainment. A regular at the Fight Club events are the Silver Dragons display Team, which have to be seen to be believed. An excellent mixture of cool high kicks, weapons and aerial acrobatics.
Another important part of the Fight club is the raising of money for local and national charities including Cancer Research. They appreciate the donations made so far by so many supporters of the events.
Fight club aims to bring more to the competition community, the fighters and supporters of these events. With Stuart pushing the events along I am sure this event will keep on growing!
