Fighting Hurts!

The Troxy in East London is fast becoming home to the Cage Rage UK team, now in fact to be known as Ultimate Challenge. More on that next month as we talk to Dave O’Donnell.

The reality show ‘Fighting Hurts’ was about to become a real reality for the fighters as they stepped up to complete the challenge they started with on the TV show aired on Nuts TV.

Peter Bowen vs. Carl Lawrence
An even first round with lots of reversals and sweeps. Strong uppercuts in the clinch from Bowen dropped Lawrence in the second round. Bowen then stayed on his opponent to win via ground and pound.
Winner: Peter Bowen

Steve Dosset vs. Brett Basset
Dosset caught Basset with a short right and got top position but Basset stayed calm and worked a nice triangle for a first round finish.
Winner: Brett Basset

Georgio Andrews vs. Davin Byfield
Andrews got a good early take down but Byfield made it straight back up. Andrews scored another take down and this time stayed on top working very well before taking the back and sinking the rear naked choke.
Winner: Georgio Andrews

Steven Elliot vs. Richard Griffin
Good fight. Elliot got a strong takedown but Griffin scrambled well. Elliot when for a spinning back kick which just misses being a highlight reel but connects enough to put Griffin on the mat once there Griffin works well to reverse Elliot and finished the round with ground and pound. Round 2 started with more back and forth action with Griffin going for ground and pound while Elliot worked for submission eventually securing a kimora for the win.

Sami Berik vs. Afran
Saeed Saeed landed a heavy shot dropping Berik but only for a moment. Berik landed with a back fist which sent Saeed tumbling. Both fighters started throwing wild shots before Berik landed with a meatie left hook for the KO
Winner: Sami Berik

Leigh Alliss v Dyson
Roberts Alliss showed superior striking from the off, landing solid shots with Roberts looking for the take down. They scramble and did it all again. Round 2 Roberts got the early takedown and moved to the mount but Allis is too strong and scrambles for reverses then started to dominate on the floor work. Round 3 Allis came out firing again. It went to the floor again with Allis again being too strong for Roberts and progressed to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Roberts was game but Alliss seemed too strong.
