That is the question to ask yourself if you want to fight on Eddy Millis MMA event! As head of the UK Shark Tank I’m always looking for the right fighters to fight in my teachers shows in LA.

Eddy Millis has been evolved in major fight event you can name. He has brought his fighters to events all over the world. It was only a matter of time before he started his own event. Last summer I arranged for my student Aaron Baum to fight on his new Invincible Fighters event. It was planned that we would have a training camp after the show at the Shark Tank, which is part of are yearly events anyway. Aaron was all fit to fight until two weeks before the fight he got a cut above his eye in training. He would have to fight another day. Lucky enough my MMA training partner Pete Irving was ready to step up and fight the good fight. Pete is a very skilled fighter who is always in fight shape and up for a good show. We have worked together for some time as he has been helping me coach my fight Team the Iron Wolves. Aaron was pleased that if he couldn’t fight we could get behind Pete and pay him back for all his help.

Pete opponent was a weight down from his normal fight weight, which meant he had some hard dieting to do. A true professional Pete made the weight. Then at the seven hour his opponent pulled out. Quickly a new opponent was set up. A veteran fighter of King of The Cage and also a weight up from Pete’s new weight! Even after a tiring week of cutting weight Pete was happy to fight even now that he was giving 10 pounds to his new opponent.

LA was hot and sunny as always, which a great setting for the show. Eddy had worked hard for months to put together a top rate event. The new convention centre was prefect for the show giving the whole set up an upmarket feel. With great lighting, lively LA crowd, the cage, a team of ring girls, large screens showing the pre fight interviews the atmosphere was rocking.

I had brought 12 students with me for the training camp after the show week and they where all looking forward to seeing Pete wave the flag. So, it was a great surprise for them when I told them they would be helping out as staff for the invincible event. Everyone was pumped to be part of the machine. The Invincible event was quality in every department. But just when you thought there was nothing to add for improvement, the voice of the octagon Bruce Buffer himself appeared to add the icing to the cake. He even wished Pete good luck, which some will say is as close to been blessed as you can get in MMA!

What can I say about Pete’s fight, he controlled the stand up clinch and beat the striker at his own game. His opponent was a tough guy and didn’t give much away, but Pete won every round repeatedly taking down his opponent and beating him to the punch each time. All in all after cutting so much weight and then giving way such a weight difference if was a great fight for Pete. We where a happy team!

We now enjoyed the rest of the show. Which had a great mix of fights. Pete was now able to enjoy food USA style! We all help out of course, being team players.

Outside the event it was pure LA to fast to furious with pimped out cars, bikes with flames and of course Harleys as standard. Time for the pool party!

Since the event, Invincible has gone strength to strength! Thanks to the hard work and dedication to high standards Eddy Millis.

After a day to recover it was on with the training camp, more on that another time.
