In "The Book of Five Rings", Musashi says that to remain centred a martial artist should create as well as destroy. We destruct things when we train, so if one practices something creative in their life it will help keep them balanced and thus more effective in their actions.
Thus, we as a school aim to have a number of charity events in the future to raise funds for various causes. We have helped students within the school in the past and thus the second of these events is in aid of Mr Ray Baum, the father of one of my assistant instructors Aaron Baum.
