Comments from Alan Orr’s students On training with their Si Gung Robert Chu
Si Gung Robert Chu is a true exponent of Wing Chun. He has a deep and practical
understanding of Wing Chun and is open and direct in his teaching.

It was great to see Si Gung his knowledge, wisdom and the fact that he is
a really genuinely considerate and caring person make all encounters a real
honour.

I would like to say thank you in arranging for Si Gung to
be in London, it would not be possible without your caring and kindness.
Not only did I enjoyed the experience but I also learned that the more I
learn, the more there is to learn. It has been an eye opening experience
to train with the best, Si Gung taught me the way of life as well as the
way of training kung fu, unimagination and unbelievable, great time with
the greatest living Wing Chun master

Since training with Alan Orr Sifu it has renewed my enthusiasm
for the Wing Chun system. Having trained for a number of years in Wing Chun
previously I thought my Wing Chun was fairly good. This was until I met
Alan Orr. Although he did not "rubbish" my skills he was able to show me
how the Chu Sau lei system was far superior in terms of using body structure
to control your opponent. This first session blew my mind. From this Alan
Orr Sifu agreed to allow me onto his apprentice instructors programme. His
demands from students is high as he wishes that his instructors have high
standards. It has not been easy to change and re adjust as "old habits are
hard to break", however with Alan Orr's way of teaching and explanations
why there is a need to do this, I am quickly beginning to understand the
concepts of this particular branch of the Wing Chun system, apply them and
see the results.

Si Gung was inspirational. A fountain of knowledge regarding
the Wing Chun system
re-enforcing what I have been shown and have learned from the school and
how much I have to learn. His explanations showed clearly the research and
the hard work (Gung fu), he has invested in the art. His humour helped re
enforce any points made. It was an honour and a privilege to be given the
opportunity to train with such a man."
